Julie Klunk Gillis, Ph.D.
I am a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy. I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and the effects of trauma. In addition, I have significant experience providing therapy for individuals navigating significant life transitions, grappling with big decisions, and increasing motivation for making difficult changes. If you are feeling unable to make the changes you want in your life or are not even sure what changes are important to you, I can help.
I primarily use a cognitive-behavioral approach to help people reach their goals. Therapy starts with understanding each person's unique needs and hopes for treatment. We then collaboratively develop a treatment plan that is used as a road map to reach those goals.
My approach is warm, honest, and direct. Although making changes in therapy is difficult, I provide a non-judgmental space to explore what brought you to therapy and how best to address your needs.
I am an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine and Program Manager of a PTSD clinic at the VA Boston Healthcare System. I have extensive experience working with veterans, first responders, and others who have experienced trauma. If you feel we'd be a good fit, please reach out to discuss.
